1 Gigabit Internet in Bangladesh: Will it ever be available to normal consumers?

Ranks Telecom Limited is launching 1 Gbps internet in Bangladesh. My question, will it be available for normal consumers? And what will be the cost per bandwidth?
The lowest priced Gigabit internet in US is provided by a company named US Internet, and it is worth whooping 65 USD (5117.12 BDT) per month. I bet that’s not an amount people are going to spend for getting a fast internet connection.
We’ll just have to wait to see what happens to this “Gigabit Internet” project.

I think, at startup that cost will be something like 10,000 BDT (not 5117.12 BDT).

    • I’ve talked with the person in charge. Well, there are some caveats.
      1. Consumers might not get full 1 Gbps, inspite they might get 100 Mbps.
      2. Price will be much much higher. For a full Gigabit line. It might cost you around 25,000+, the price is not fixed yet.

Thanks for this information. So this 1 Gigabit Internet thing is for rich Bangladeshi. 🤔
